Taxi Council Limited’s Incitement against Taxi Drivers

Taxi Council Limited’s Incitement against Taxi Drivers

Further to Supplementary Submission of Faruque Ahmed to the NSW Upper House Inquiry below, please find attached TAXI COUNCIL (Limited) ON "CHERRYPICKING (front) and TAXI COUNCIL (Limited) ON "CHERRYPICKING (back) brochure as I mentioned earlier in my ‘in person presentation’.

Supplementary Submission of Faruque Ahmed to the NSW Upper House Inquiry

The NSW Transport Workers Union leaderships have been stabbing the taxi drivers’ back since 1984! I have provided a plethora of valid documentation in my electronic submission as electronic links format to demonstrate this burning issue. Yet, no one bothered to ask me any question about this issue, or any other issues for that matter!! During my so called in person presentation someone posed a question, “… why are there so many competing organsiations for taxi drivers … ?“. I have requested time to contemplate the question, without any success so far.

Taxi drivers of NSW are desperately seeking protection from the rape and pillage of the ‘protected’ NSW TWU leadership. I suspect, this Inquiry is not going to do anything about these monumental injustices. I also suspect, five fundamental points I have canvassed in my Preamble will be ignored in favor of the powerful taxi mafia interests.

I failed to see how this Inquiry can clean up the taxi industry for the benefit of the state and public. I rather smelled a very strong and powerful addiction to protect the mafia interest by protecting the superciliously inflated taxi plate value! This so called taxi ‘plate value:

1. Is a negative factor for the whole industry and entire society of ours!

2. Can not improve service to the public.

3. Can not improve taxi drivers’ safety.

4. Will increase corruption.

5. Will attract money laundering and other types of crimes.

6. Can not be beneficial for the society.

Inciting the Traveling Public against the Taxi Drivers of NSW and Howard Harrison of Taxi Council Limited are only a few more examples of taxi mafia inspired attacks against taxi drivers. As I promised, I intend to deliver the pamphlet in question and if you care to listen, I will explain about the dangerous way the Taxi Council Limited mobs handed them over at many areas of the city at that time.

I have demonstrated the power and arrogance of the taxi mafia in my A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry and Beyond A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry. Surprise! Surprise!! My Preamble, A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry and Beyond A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry were kept out of site. Even my Humorous Submission with Reality is out of bound!!! I do not know why is it so?

My Written Submission’s electronic links (evidence) are also not available for public consumption and scrutiny. During my In Person Presentation I felt that I am squeezed.

Everybody know it and it is also reported that the taxi mafia managed to silence and sabotage 20 inquiries and outcome of those inquiries! In light of a very tragic and dirty historical background do we have a hope for better outcome?

I don’t think so.

The NSW Taxi Council Limited (compulsory club) and NSW taxi Industry Association (compulsory union) have been representing the taxi mafia interest with the assistance of the NSW Transport Workers Union, NSW Transport and Infrastructure and host of other organisations. Alas! This time the NSW Taxi Drivers’ Association too, joined in the queue to protect the taxi mafia interests and a small clique is bold enough to sack the elected secretary without any reason or due process of law.

Anyway, history will judge us. Who ever thought Hitler, Mussolini, … will be in the dustbin of the history?

Howard Harrison of Taxi Council Limited

Taxi Council Limited spokesperson Howard Harrison made opportunistic and silly statement in radio 2UE today. He went on to incite against taxi drivers based on false and fabricated reason and ground.

Faruque Ahmed made a phone call to 2UE’s Two Murray’s Show for a right of reply. They ignored his call. He then, went on to hide his caller identity and 2UE switch people picked up phone very quickly! Faruque Ahmed told them who he was and what he want to talk about. The embarrassed producer recognised Faruque Ahmed and he promised him to call back. In reality he did not.

The reason is very simple. Taxi Mafia Inspired Blockade (Radio 2 UE) is at work!! They can not answer Faruque Ahmed therefore they have decided to block him and follow the true Australian Values inspired by John Howard – The Lying Son of A Bitch!!!

However, the message of Faruque Ahmed is very simple and clear. Taxi Drivers’ are doing it tough. Taxi Drivers are not “cherry picking”, Howard Harrison of Taxi Council Limited should refrain from inciting against taxi drivers.

Commercial media outlets as evidenced by Taxi Mafia Inspired Blockade (Radio 2 UE) and Taxi Mafia Inspired Blockade (Radio 2GB) must not compromise their intelligence and integrity for mighty dollar.

Re: Breach of Duty of Care Provision of the NSW OH&SA by Inciting the Traveling Public against the Taxi Drivers of NSW

Dear Sir/Madam

NSW Taxi Council Pty Ltd (NSWTCPL) has delivered a Christmas present for taxi drivers by inciting the traveling public through various means, including the attached brochure. This private profit making company has also used false representation and false advertising on the brochure concerned by specifically putting themselves forward as the NSW Taxi Council when in fact it is not a "council" or anything of that nature. This NSWTCPL does not represent the taxi industry or drivers in the first place. Most importantly, the claim of "Cherry picking" has no foundation whatsoever.

For your kind information I am appending NSWTCPL brochure on "Cherry Picking", TAXI COUNCIL ON "CHERRYPICKING" and Taxi Driver Bashing of the NSW Taxi Council Pty Ltd. As reported in the 7.30 Report on ABC that Cabcharge P/L and companies connected with the NSW TCPL are financial contributors to the NSW Labor Party and I hope because of those financial links, justice and fairness won't be compromised.

I therefore request you to take the necessary action by prosecuting the NSW Taxi Council Pty Ltd and to further prevent any breaching of the Duty of Care Provisions of the NSW OH&SA due to NSW TCPL's blatant and wrongful incitement towards the taxi traveling pubic against the taxi drivers of NSW.

With thanks

Sincerely Yours

Beyond A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry

Beyond A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry

Further to A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry, someone claimed to be a senior official from the above minister’s office rang me up and she kindly volunteered to provide me the address of the website from where I could get the Terms of Reference of the Upper House Inquiry. I replied to her that I have the TOR of the UHI. I also told her that the Minister has (and must have) the power to compel the taxi networks to announce the details including the Terms of Reference of the Upper House Inquiry.

At the end I was not sure that she was either interested or capable to understand my request and reasons and grounds behind such a simple request.

A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry

A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry

A Public Inquiry is meaningless without spontaneous public participation.

Politicians and the public servants have been throwing bagfuls of money and endless power to the taxi industry mandarins! Yet, the mandarins are refusing to broadcast the NSW Upper House Inquiry details through their radio networks and other propaganda machines!!

They have not broadcasted the NSW Upper House Inquiry Terms of Reference or any other details despite a request form the Inquiry Secretariat to do so.

I have requested the office of the Minister David Borger to instruct the taxi mafia to broadcast the relevant information. A keen person took my idea on board and she promised to pass them on to higher people. Hope some good comes out of this effort.

Humorous Submission with Reality

Humorous Submission with Reality

AN OPEN LETTER TO ANYONE WHO CARES

01.07.92

Every day the newspapers carry advertisements stating “Taxi Drivers Wanted”. These adverts attract the unemployed and migrants. Al are welcome. Al you need is a driving licence, a pulse and about $500.00. Being able to speak English or knowing your way around Sydney, now that could be a bit of a problem.

To keep the training school, the sale of UBDs, money bags and cards with lists of where to buy gas, in full swing, you need a quick turnover of taxi drivers. And, boy, have we got a quick turnover! Each week 100 new taxi drivers eagerly enter the taxi business and each week 100 disillusioned causalities exit, why?

Because, you need the ignorance and lack of knowledge of the new (and migrant) taxi drivers, to be able to charge them $50 M to $100 M AYEAR (!) above the legally available limit: the Award.

And the deception starts with the BIG LIES of the Taxi Training School, which are:

1. Driving a taxi is as safe as being a bank teller. A LIE.

2. You WILL get good money during a Taxi. A LIE.

3. There is a shortage of taxi drivers. A LIE.

4. The taxi co-ops will treat you right. A LIE.

5. You will find out driving a taxi is the Job you haw ever had. A LIE.

6. You will never need to pay tax again. THATS THE TRUTH.

7. There is a union but not active. A LIE.

8. There is an award exists. NEVER MENTIONED!

9. A good taxi driver never tells anybody – even his wife – what he earns because he is afraid the tax office might get to hear of it. A LlE. IT IS MOST PROBLY because HE IS TOO ASHAMED OF WHAT HE EARNS.

If it’s so bad why people still do it? Why don’t they give it away? They do. At hast 5,000 a year AND THERE ARE ONLY 5000 TAXIS!

Why do people get into driving taxis in the first place?

Advertising for the taxi schools is; in al newspapers, at the CES, and on the sides of taxis. You turn up al the training school, you pay your $425.00 fees, you buy a currant UBD, a money bag, and a list of where to buy gas.

Then the how-to-be-a-good-taxi-driver lessons start with a video an insurance agent and how he goes about getting customers. An instructor, who cats meat pies, drinks coke and chain smocks, gives a lecture church on health and nutrition. Another instructor - a woman this time – who also chain smokes talks about stress management. A doctor checks you to see if you have a pulse.

Then the taxi school rents you - for $40.00 - a bomb (an ax-taxi with about ten million ks on the clock) for you to use to take your driving test. The test costs $26.00. No worries there. I think they pass you if you manage to get eh hire car to the M.R. office. Now, all you have to do is get your taxi accreditation complete with photo and number. That's easy -Just $20.00.

A question often asked is how come taxi drivers, with no knowledge of Sydney, manage to pass a locality test in the first place? That's easy; the questions are accompanied by multiple choice answers, sooner or later you are bound to tick the correct answer-box, say on your fourth or fifth attempt . Lets face it, if they failed, the school would have to refund the fees , buy back the UBDs, the money bags and the lists of gas stations, Come on now, how can you lose?

The story so far: You have spent $425.00 fees , $23.00 UBD , $13.00 money bag , $2.00 list of gas stations, $40.00 hire of car, $26,00 driving test, $20.00 for ID. That is $519.00 in total. What has your $519.00 bought you? Absolutely nothing of value - just a pile of half truth:, downright lies and the hallucinations of an instructor who has gone ga-ga from years of sitting in the sun waiting for fares.

Well, you are now a taxi driver and if you are lucky, you will be approached by a private Owner end you will come to an arrangement with him. You will pay between $70.00 and $103.00 for a 12 hour day shift (upto$166.00 for a night shift) rental plus about $15.00 to $25.00 gas, lf you stay on the road for the full shift, six days a week (72 hrs!) and you are lucky, you will GROSS $300.00. But what about the unlucky ones? Well, they work for the co-ops. Well at least they turn up for work at the co-ops. It does not mean they will get a cab as there are about 4000 cabs and about 20,000 cab driven. You have to rely on Somebody not turning up. But, as they are the permanent drivers until 6.30 am to turn up, you won’t get a cab until then. Guess what, however, they will charge you from 3 am. Yes, yes still have to pay the full amount no matter what time you take the taxi out. That way the owner still gets his full $1,706.50 per cab per week minimum. lf an investor owns 10 cabs that's around a million dollars a year.

Remember what they tell you at training school: Taxi Drivers never pay tax. Any driver taking a cab on the road after 6.30 am will not make a living wage. Making you to start late is only one way the management prevent you from making a living: They Put you off the air for periods of lime ranging from two hours to 28 shifts for the most piddling of so called offenses. Offenses' such as pressing the wrong button on your radio or getting stuck in traffic.

The management, radio operators, police, parking attendants, security guards, DOT inspectors and fare evaders make sure that most taxi driven NEVER earn I living wage.

When you read in the papers that the taxi industry is cleaning up the business; getting rid off the no-hopers and cowboy: - remember these same “no hopper and cowboys” are the ones that passed through the training school a few weeks previous.

What's in it for the pubic? Nothing. You will still get dirty cabs and surely drivers who do not know they are going. Who cares? They pick up their $88,738.00 per year (not including the over $1000.00 they save by not paying holiday and sick pay) for each cab they own, no matter what state its in.

Will things get any better? Not in our life lime they won’t. Why should they? People have to use taxis. The fleet owners are making a motza ; the management are doing very nicety; the radio operators make a good wage and the 'accredited training schools' are on to a nice little earner. Sales of UBDs are up, as are sales of money bags and lists of gas outlets, the DOT employees' lives are easy. That taxi passengers do not get the best service, well that’s just too bad! The taxpayers subsidise this rip-off scheme to the tune of $2 billon dollars I year and that is not their (fleet owners) problem.

Signed (exploited cab driver)

Well, since 1992 is there any change?

Sufferings of taxi drivers went up.

Corruption went up.

Corrupt leadership of the NSW TWU are more aggressive than before.

Taxi mafia controls everyone one! I mean almost everyone!!

Even members of judiciary have joined the gang.

The Outcome of the NSW Upper House Inquiry

They double dip the Taxi Drivers and the public!?!

You are welcome to examine the entire
Submissions to the NSW Upper House Inquiry re Taxi Industry at your convenience.

Specially please pay attention to this little calculation!

Some lucky people were given 100 taxi plates for free by the government!

Say each plate is making $500 per week.

100 plates making 100 X $500 = $50 000 per week

Now the question is where are the money?

These good Samaritans supposed to be assisting the disabled people! But, they do not!!

They double dip the Taxi Drivers and the public!?!

When disable people do not get taxis, the good Samaritans blame the “wogs” and workers! Thus in a way they are getting away with murder.

NSW Upper House Inquiry re Taxi Industry submissions are interesting!

This is your country. Stop this injustice and day light robbery.

Re: Summary of Recommendations

Recommendation 7 was voted 3:3! Mostly Labor party voted against further Inquiry because they may fear something! Anyway, later the President of the Inquiry did cast his vote with the negative camp!! It is strange they voted against the public interest and to protect the mafia.

Summary of Recommendations

Recommendation 7 Page 55

That NSW Transport and Infrastructure take no further action in respect of the Nexus scheme licences.

Please remember most of our recommendations are accepted despite taxi mafia's billion dollar assets and illegal and immoral influence.

Labor Party President Steve Hutchins took the bribe and he is making desperate efforts to protect the taxi mafia and particularly Peter Hyer and Reg Kermode!

These criminals robbed public assets and NOT providing service to disabled people! They have been using racism, sectarianism and boring worker bashing to hide their crimes.

We have to expose their crimes further.

In Person Presentation

In Person Presentation

My Preamble, A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry, Beyond A Critical Observation re NSW Upper House Inquiry, Humorous Submission with Reality and Written Submission contain only 1% of documentations in my possession.

I intend to add another 1% of documentations in my possession during my In Person Presentation. However, some sources say, a powerful group is determined to stop me to do so.

Well, I’ll believe in everything as it is demonstrated in The Power of the Taxi Mafia over the last twenty years!

The NSW TDA President Anne Turner calls herself “princes”. However, the ex NSW TDA president Geoff Coates used to call her “mistress’. Although I am not interested in the past or personal issues! However, Anne Turner and Eddie Diab have attended many meetings with taxi owners and taxi mafia. They failed to provide the attendee, agenda and outcomes of those meetings despite repeated requests. The NSW TDA does NOT represent PLATE OWNERS!, is a small example to explore the situation! Anne Turner also admitted to accept money from the taxi mafia (by mistake I suppose). Please examine May the president please inform the committee should be examined to obtain some evidence in relation to this issue.

The submission to the NSW Upper House Inquiry presented by the NSW TDA banner is contradictory and does not reflect the proper views of the organisation and mission statement of the NSW TDA. Confidential NSW TDA Issues are one more example of Anne’s misadventure.

Since the election, Anne Turner and Eddie Diab have wasted three committee meetings for the blood of NSW TDA committee Member Ted Hirsh. They did this unlawfully and as a secretary I warned them about it.

Naturally, for a number of reasons including the one I mentioned above, Anne Turner and Eddie Diab clique conspired to remove me from the committee without any reason at the fourth committee meeting in my absence.

Anne Turner’s Weapons of Mass Destruction and Why Sex? Are two more examples of dirty tricks used by these power drunks under the instruction of the taxi mafia!

Now they are unlawfully writing to the NSW Upper House Inquiry Secretariat that I am not the elected Secretary of the NSW TDA! I also note that the written submission under the banner of the NSW TDA and rest of the activities are not inline with the NSW TDA activities, aim and objective.

In short, it is becoming clearer that the so called NSW TDA submission and in person presentation do not represent true values and interests of the working taxi drivers.

Ann Turner – Do Not Destroy the NSW TDA, and Reg Kermode Thugs Went on to Kidnap and Rob Faruque Ahmed are further reasons and grounds to grant me to present my in person submission.

Therefore, I should not be prevented from making an In Person Presentation during the NSW Upper House Inquiry re Taxi Industry.

With thanks
